Jasim and the Wolf

One day, Jasim and his friends Rocket went in the forest to look for medical plants. They needed the medical plants to save Jimmy, Jasim’s dog. Rocket was a werewolf, when he was a child he was bitten by a dog when he was wandering in the forest. Due to the bit, Rocket’s blood mutated and he resulted into a werewolf. The two boys were hoping to get back home before sunset. As they were walking they kept getting distracted by small cute animals, they lost track of time. As the sunset Rocket transformed into a werewold, Jasim …

How to comment?

To start off, to write a good comment, you should carefully read the text. Then give the writer one compliment that made his\her writing better. Make sure that this is a specific positive comment. After the first comments you should give two aspects the writer should improve on. This should hopefully make the writers writing better. In my blog I welcome positive comment, but I would throw negative comments. I also welcome some feeback.

About me- What would be my favorite moment in High school?

Hi, my name is Abdel and I am in 9th grade. One thing I like about school is sports (extracurricular) I play soccer, basketball and a bit of volleyball. In my school we have this big event called Waisal in which many other schools compete. My dream moment during my high school years would be to play in the basketball team, and make it to the finals. To be more specific I wish I score the final point that will give us the championship. To make it in the team I will need to put lots of work during practice and besides practice.

Using Technology to Solve Problems

Let’s start slow and small, to solve problems we need to find them. In tech class we went over online and offline harassment, flaming and finally Cyberbullying. These are all problems that happen both online and offline, and I have  come with some ideas on how to stop online harassment.  One of the first projects we did in technology class was making a mashup. This consisted of taking videos from the internet and putting split seconds of each video together, people seemed to enjoy that idea. We could use video mashup to make an advertisements showing kids being harassed through technology, in this mashup we will include way to stop these. Websites should also be part of this, they should all include something that a user can use to inform them that they’re being harassed.

Today everybody uses technology so it’s easy to deceive people through it, some people use technology to make someone feel bad, this is called flaming. To stop online flaming, websites should include a program were the user can directly contact the website’s community and have the “flamer” sanctioned. Every website that allows people to communicate, should also include a program, that makes people ask permission before publishing something about another user. For example before I publish a small story about on of my friend, I have to ask that friend’s permission before publishing. That will decrease the amount of harassment and Cyberbullying.

Does Hard Work Really Pay Off?

The second trimester of my 7th grade year started with the volleyball after-school activity. I was chosen for the A team trial, but unfortunately I couldn’t go to Waisal. The reason was because I had a lower level than the other players. The next year (8th grade) I started practicing my serves, blocks and I started running more than usual. When Volleyball season started in 8th grade, I was very excited, because I was on the same level as the best players. Few weeks after, the coaches invited 18 players to play a game, and I thought I did a good impression. The next morning all the players were invited in the coaches office to know the five boys and five girls chosen to travel for Waisal. This year I was chosen, and the chosen team will travel to Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. This changed in a way that when I fail to do something, I will work even harder to get to my goals. This is to say that hard work will always pay off (from experience).

Middle School 2015

Waisal! It  has been my best experience this year so far. Waisal is a tournament that was created long ago, this year Ghana was hosting the tournament. The teams that participated were, Abuja, Dakar, Lagos and Ghana, all the teams brought there boys and girls team. During Waisal I met new people from different countries and cultures as me. The ISD (Dakar team) boys came third place and the girls in first place, hopefully get to go to Waisal volleyball so that I can win at least one Waisal in middle school. Waisal soccer was my best experience from school so far because for the first time I travelled in a plain with many of my friends, meet new people and played soccer.
